Pauline 's Adventures
To our International Technical Officer, Pauline Seaton, for the incredible engagement on our Facebook page! Her recent post has garnered over 13.1k views and 9.5k unique viewers, showcasing the impact of her expertise and dedication.
Pauline flew to Melbourne as part of a team of World Bowls Umpires to officiate at the Indoor World Bowls Championships held 12 to 16 May.
"I had a wonderful time in Melbourne at the World Bowls Indoor Champs - these events remind me why I love being an Umpire. You meet some amazing people from all walks of life and talk to players who are so passionate about bowls. I really love talking to players from emerging countries who often don't have greens - Namibia for example have manufactured a green from fishing nets spread over a paddock. Others have mats in a school gymnasium or corridor. They work around the school curriculum for practise/playing time.
I believe that my role is to help players get as much enjoyment from the game as they possibly can. When games are fair for everyone you can walk off the green knowing, that at the end of the day, the best team won."

Sonya King is Secretary of the Yarra Region and is responsible for putting the article together. Sonya has been on both Hawthorn tours to New Zealand and currently plays for Ivanhoe so has been involved in each of the four years our relationship has endured.
